At Hometown Veterinary Care, our in-house diagnostics include bloodwork and specialty tests, assuring quick and accurate results for your pet’s health.

Pet Diagnostics

Our lab is equipped to run many diagnostic tests in-house, which allows us to have results quickly–often before our clients have finished their appointments. If your pet requires a test that is more specialized, we partner with a number of state-of-the-art diagnostic labs and can ship samples overnight for fast and accurate results. Below is a list of frequently run diagnostics.

Bloodwork, including, but not limited to:

  • Blood chemistry with CBC
  • Total T4
  • Canine heartworm and tick-borne disease screening
  • Feline Leukemia and FIV screening
  • Feline and canine pancreatic lipase testing
  • Blood glucose curves/diabetic monitoring
  • Manual packed cell volume & total protein
  • Blood smears/cytology
Parasite screenings:

  • Intestinal parasites via fecal cytology
  • Ear mites via ear cytology
  • Skin mites (mange) via skin scraping & cytology

Bacterial & fungal diagnostics:

  • Urinary tract infections
  • Ear infections
  • Bacterial overgrowths of the digestive tract via fecal cytology
  • Ringworm via culture
